Does anyone know if there is a possibility to print a view from a DOORS module with bitmaps (Company Logo) in the header?
We are using DOORS for our contract specifications. We tried to export to word but not all data was transferred. Recovery of missing data is not an option. (Too much data).
So we would rather print directly from DOORS with proper headers and footers.

You can also put your paper in the printer twice ... And then try to print your headers and footers on the from word in the second run :-)
Just kidding - You may want to change the export software (for example use the free WEXP). The "data loss" you are describing is not common for an export and you should be able to export your document even with on board means to a word template with headers and footers setup. Maybe we can help you avoiding the data loss... Graphics in headers and footers are not possible with DOORS print i guess.

PS it is easy to get data loss during an export -- just try exporting a multi column view in table format and see what happens to main column.

I concur with doors36677.
Additionally, as a hard-earned tip for all, I've observed that both DOORS native exports and WEXP export go much better when Microsoft Outlook isn't running.
Outlook and DOORS network traffic seems to clash a lot on our company intranet.
After I began shutting down Outlook before commencing an export, all my export data loss problems disappeared.

If you want to export in table mode, don't forget the wonderful Galactic Solution's tool, far easier to obtain then configure:
Enhanced Export to Excel
Note that if your using DOORS 8 or above, you will need this quick-fix however:
-
Download the "DOORS 7" version
-
in the DXL file, search for this line:
put( EXCEL_DOORS_VERSIONS, 3, "DOORS 7.1" )
-
add this line (with the version number you're actually using, of course)
put( EXCEL_DOORS_VERSIONS, 4, "DOORS 8.1" )

I don't get data loss when I export the main column in table format in a 4 column view using the standard word export... The DOORS tables are exported kind of ugly (object by object)... But all info seems to be in there.

Printing to PDF is no solution.
Inserted Word text (OLE) is not printed after page break.

Taking a guess here but it sounds like your problems isn't DOORS.
Perhaps you OLE application is root cause.
